MASTER OF SCIENCE IN Educational Leadership
General Leadership with Educational Technology Emphasis
You
should plan to submit all application materials well in advance of
the contemplated semester or summer of enrollment: by May for
summer and fall semesters.
Overview:

Complete
admissions requirements

Apply for special student status at
Bemidji State University.
3.
Complete program of study (Form 1) using
the requirements for the degree
(Masters of Science in Educational
Administration: General Leadership
with Educational Technology) and tentative
schedule for degree
completion using the course schedule.
4.
If desired, apply for financial aid.
5.
Register
for courses. Note: specific courses
have limited enrollment. Priority
status is given to candidates in
Educational Technology.
6.
Contact instructor or website for pre-class
information and assignments.
Admission Requirements (MSUM
Students)
Admission
to the masters degree program is
considered only after all required
application materials have been received
and reviewed. Incomplete
files will not be reviewed. Required
materials are:
1.
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited
institution.
2.
Completed Application for Admission
to Graduate Study form. http://web.mnstate.edu/graduate
3.
Undergraduate and other transcripts sent
directly from the institution to
the
MSUM Graduate Studies Office.
4.
Non-refundable $20.00 fee for first-time
applicants to Minnesota State University
Moorhead.
5.
Two letters of recommendation which evaluate
the applicants potential for success
as a graduate student and as
an educational administrator (forms
provided).
6.
Essay on professional goals.
Admission
decisions are based upon the predicted
success of the applicant
as a student and professional administrator
and are made only
after considering all available data.
Upon
admission to full standing, MSUM
candidates in the Educational Technology
Emphasis must apply for special
student status at Bemidji State
University.
Admission
in Full Standing: Baccalaureate
degree with a cumulative GPA of
3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, or
a GPA of at least 3.25 during
the final 30 semester
credits of graded undergraduate course
work. Appropriate demonstration
of written competency is required.
Admission
with Provisions: A student who
does not meet all requirements
for
full admission may be admitted
with provisions by showing evidence
that
their potential is not adequately
reflected in their record. See the
MSUM
Graduate Bulletin for additional requirements.
NOTE: YOU MUST REGISTER
AT BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY AS A "GRAD SPECIAL" TO
BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE BSU Courses.
Degree Requirements
The
Master of Science program in educational
administration consists of four
main components:
1.
Admission requirements.
2.
Curriculum consists of 36 semester credit
hours of course work.
3.
3.0 grade point average required for
courses submitted for the degree.
Grades
below C are unacceptable for graduate
credit.
4.
A written comprehensive examination.
5.
A thesis or individual study/portfolio
option and subsequent oral examination.
