Present: SuEllen Shaw, chair; Steven Bolduc, Sheri Erickson, Dawn Hammerschmidt,
Michael McCord, Carol Sibley

Absent: Jill Frederick (Eurospring), Jarilyn Gess, Judy Strong, Stacy Voeller (sabbatical). Gess reviewed the proposals and sent comments.

Minutes: Bolduc moved. McCord seconded to approve the minutes of March 23, 2007. The motion was approved unanimously.

Review of Course Proposals:

PSY 330: Experimental Psychology: Sibley moved. Erickson seconded to approve PSY 330 as Writing-Intensive.

• While it is stated on the proposal form that formal writing assignments include 8-10 1-2 page written critiques of research studies, it is not apparent on the syllabus and should be listed.

• Unclear whether at least one assignment requires drafting and revision.

The motion was approved unanimously provided the course syllabus is amended to address the above suggestions. Shaw agreed to contact the faculty member.

University Writing Committee Spring 2008: Shaw announced that she will be on sabbatical Spring Semester 2008 and a committee member will need to be appointed as acting chairperson. The acting chair may also be able to receive 1-2-credits of reassigned time. Members are to contact Shaw if they are interested in serving in this capacity.

Next Meeting: Friday, April 20, 2007, at 12:00 p.m., in CMU 218. It was agreed to meet until 1:30 p.m. due to the anticipated number of course proposals.

The meeting adjourned at 12:40 p.m.
