Student Organizer Position Opening
Looking for a way to make some extra money but don't have time for a regular job with set hours? The Student Academic Conference is looking to hire a Student Organizer to assist with preparations for the conference. For more information check out the position announcement. . The student organizer will be able to work independently and set own schedule to complete assigned tasks.

There will be an informational meeting about the Student Academic Conference on (Date, Time, Location) for any faculty or staff who is interested in assisting with the planning of this year's conference. Rolls and juice will be provided, please r.s.v.p. to acconf@mnstate.edu if you plan to attend by (date). If you cannot attend this meeting, but wish to be involved in the planning of the conference please contact (Name)

Recognize an ALUM
As is tradition the keynote speaker for the conference will be a former
MSUM student. Any faculty or staff member can nominate a former student
who would address a general topic of any of the following areas:
Importance of Undergraduate Research/Scholarly Activity, Pursuit of
Knowledge rather than Pursuit of a Degree, Importance of Liberal Arts
Background, Cross Discipline Research, or Sharing Knowledge Across
Disciplines. To nominate: Submit the name, educational background,
involvement while at MSUM, professional achievements, current status,
and why you feel he or she would be a good candidate for the keynote
speaker. Nominations can be sent to acconf@mnstate.edu Nominations are
due by Friday, December 20, 2002.

Recognize a Current MSUM Student
In addition to the keynote speaker, there has always been four students
selected to respond to the keynote address. These students represent
each of the four academic divisions (1 per academic division). The
academic deans have always initiated some form of nomination process
within their division to select the representative for the division.
Please assist your dean in this process by submitting names of students
you feel would represent the division well in this regard. The deans
have been requested to select their representative by (date)

Notice to Faculty
As you plan your syllabus and other calendars for next semester, please keep in mind the Student Academic Conference which will be held on
(date). The deadline for submitting applications to present at the conference is

Also if you have a portable computer projection unit in your department/area please do not plan on using it the day before, day of,
or day after the conference as we need all units in the Comstock Memorial Union for the conference.

Do you know students who should present their work at the Student Academic Conference? Sometimes a little encouragement from faculty and staff can go a long way. But to really put your message over the top, give us your student's name and contact information and President Barden will send a letter of encouragement to your student. Notice to Students (Encouragement to Present after conference posters are hung)
Presentation applications for the
Student Academic Conference are now available throughout campus (particularly academic departments)
hanging from the red conference posters. If you are interested in presenting please pick up an application and submit it

Notice to Student Presenters
Congratulations you will be presenting at this year's
Annual Student Academic Conference!
You are about to be a part of the largest conference ever, featuring 151
presentations by at least 234 students!
In order for this conference to be successful, I need the following from you by
(Date) so that all corrections can be made to the conference program, name tags, and web page:
1. Check to make sure the spelling of your name is correct (If your name is listed more than
once it means you are presenting more than once) Also note your presentation time and
location:

2. Check your abstract for errors. The abstracts are listed in presentation number order, i.e.
the reference number next to your name.

Poster Presenters:
You can start setting up your posters at 7:30 a.m. Your poster will be on display all day,
but you have been assigned a session time to be at your poster to answer questions for any of the conference attendees.
