Academic Grants

Grants

The Minnesota State University Moorhead Grants web site is a resource to support faculty, staff and students in their pursuit of funding for programs and initiatives that strengthen the institution's academic and support programs, and funds for individual professional development.

This site provides links to comprehensive funding databases, including federal, state and private funding agencies and grant competitions, as well as MSUM internal grant sources. In most cases, the initial page(s) for each major type of funding source displays those organizations considered to have the best potential for funding. These pages will be updated regularly to include agencies that fund MSUM projects.

Individuals seeking grants from an area foundation or a local business/corporation should contact the Alumni Foundation Office. Normally these grants are for amounts under $100,000. Individuals seeking assistance for federal grants or from national or regional foundations should consult their college dean. These grants will generally be larger and multi-year.

In the event that a potential applicant wishes to pursue other sources, links are provided to virtually every major public and private source. Individuals are encouraged to explore potential grant sources on their own using the links discussed above or a search engine to which MSUM subscribes. GrantMiner subscriptions are available at no charge to all Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System employees. Just follow the directions to create your subscription. Your user ID and password will be sent via email.

Information on proposal development, budget preparation, grant management, along with information on policies/regulations is also provided.
