Station in Minnesota provides good details on the modern timber industry in the state.
Agnes M. Larson, History of the White Pine Industry in Minnesota (1949) -- the
standard narrative overview of the heyday of Minnesota's lumber industry.
John Emmett Nelligan: A White Pine Empire: The Life of a Lumberman (1969) -- a
very interesting book in which Nelligan recounts his experiences as a lumberman across the
Great Lakes pine region.
