Born in Anhui,China, Zhimin Guan received a BFA in China in 1984.
From 1985 to 1994 he taught painting and drawing at Dalian Institute
of Industrial Design in Dalian, China.

Zhimin earned an MFA from Fort Hays State University in Kansas(1998).
Since 1998, he has taught painting

For the last 15 years, Zhimin devoted himself to creating art and teaching. Professor Guan's paintings have earned regional and national acclaim. Guan has exhibited his art extensively throughout the United States and China in museums and galleries. Zhimin Guan's work has appeared in more than 90 select group exhibitions and received 20 art awards throughout the US and abroad.
