FERPA

All departments must notify their student employees about their rights under FERPA. As student employees of the University, the students must be trained in FERPA regulations.

EACH YEAR, all student employees are required to read the FERPA Quick Reference Sheet and complete the FERPA Tutorial which can be found at http://web.mnstate.edu/records/ferpa_info/. Upon successful completion, the student will be instructed to fill out and sign the Student Worker Statement of Understanding. Please retain this form in your department. It is not necessary to send a copy to the Payroll Office.
