October 12 Meeting Minutes

Present: Stephen Hamrick, Ananda Shastri, Russ Colson, Anna Arnar,

Michael Hughey, Margaret Sankey

1) Budget was approved.

2) Voted on motion "Honors students will take three seminars in partial fulfillment of the program." This was approved.

3) The possibility of the Honors Advanced Composition was discussed.

MH expressed the concern that the course would make it difficult for students to

complete the program. AS concurred. The committee agreed to keep the discussion on

this open, but to focus on more pressing issues for now.

4)The following Honors Courses were approved to be continued as Honors Courses and taken through the Dragon Core and APAC procedure.

Honors 200, 300, 301, 305, 306, 312, and 318

5) The definition of the Honors Capstone course was discussed. The committee voted to approve the capstone course definition as outlined in the handouts.
