Answers About Summer Housing
- Are all of your payments current with Housing and Residential Life? In order for your summer housing contract to be accepted, all past due amounts must be reconciled.
- All payments for any length of stay in summer housing must be fully paid in advance. If necessary, consider an emergency loan prior to check-in. Once a length of stay exceeds the amount paid, the room will be locked, and assigned keys will no longer function.
- Only students registered for Summer 2010 classes or Fall 2010 housing will be eligible to complete a summer housing contract.
- Those students currently living in West Snarr Hall (the assigned summer building) will in most cases be able to continue living in the same room during the summer. To ensure this, they must submit their summer contract to the housing office prior to April 16, 2010 at 4:00 pm.
- Room assignments will be made May 4, 2010 through May 15, 2010. If you do not have your application/contract, and full payment turned in to the Housing Office before 4:00 p.m on May 14th you will not be given a summer Room Assignment. You MUST wait until 8:00 a.m. on Monday, May 17th when the Housing Office in Ballard Hall opens. No Room Assignments will be made at the Snarr desk on Saturday 05/15/10 or Sunday 05/16/10....NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
- Those currently living off campus may not check in to summer housing until the Sunday, May 16, 2010.
- All contracts should be completed and turned in to the housing office as soon as possible so you can be advised of any financial obligations owed to Housing and Residential Life, and to identify those students wishing to remain in their existing summer housing room during summer. *This does not however, guarantee that residents will be assigned to their current room.
- Check-in for residents who are registered for Fall 2010 begins at the Snarr desk on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at 5:00pm. You will receive your keys at the Snarr desk.
- Check-in for residents who are not contracting with housing for Fall 2010 begin check-in at the Snarr desk on Sunday, May 16, 2010.
- Cancellation of the contract can only be made before 4 pm on the Friday before your summer class schedule. Requests beyond that date will result in loss of deposit/application fee and all housing lease obligations including the termination charges listed on that contract.
- Furnishings: Each double room will be equipped with two beds, two desks, and a micro-fridge. Each single and double as single rooms are equipped with one bed, a desk, and a micro-fridge. Lofts may not be used. All rooms have at least one mirror, a wall mounted telephone and a garbage can. Storage is not available.
- Air conditioners are not allowed as they create additional drain on the power supply, cause damage to windows and create a degree of safety risk. The only acception will be made on a case by case basis with a doctor's notification letter (prescription slips will not be accepted). Students granted approval must have their air conditioners installed by our staff and pay an installment and service charge of $50.00
