Determining Which Version of Mac OS X You Are Running

Step 1: Click on the Apple menu icon

Click on the Apple Menu icon located in the top left corner of your computer screen (see Figure 1)

Step 2: Select "About this Mac"

Select "About this Mac" from the menu (see Figure 2). A window should open similar to the one in Figure 3. You will be able to see the version of Mac OS X you are running located below the text "Mac OS X".
