Extra Credit Assignment #2

The goal of this extra credit assignment is to encourage you to do a little independent research on some of the things that logarithms are used for. Spend some time looking at sources of information either online or in the library. Then write a 2-3 page paper summarizing the information you were able to find about the various ways logarithms are used. One idea to get you started is to look at the computations that can be done using a “slide rule”. Other ideas are to look at logarithmic scales or logarithmic graph paper. You paper should be typed and should contain a bibliography of all sources used.

Your paper is due by the end of my office hours on Monday, June 30^th and is worth up to 5 extra credit points, depending on the overall quality of your paper (both the content of your paper and the quality of your writing)
