Rajiv Kalra, Ph.D., CFA, CFP is a professor of finance in the School of Business. He has been with Minnesota State University Moorhead since 1989. His wife, Seema, is a special education teacher at Fargo Public Schools. The Kalras have two daughters. Nidhi, the older daughter, graduated in computer science from Cornell University in 2002. She completed her Ph.D. in robotics at the Carnegie Mellon University in 2007. She works as a researcher at the Rand Corporation. Nidhi’s husband, also a Ph.D. in robotics from Carnegie Mellon works for Google, Inc. Anita, the younger daughter completed her biomedical engineering degree in 2007 at Franklin F. Olin College of Engineering, Boston. She earned her law degree at the Columbia University Law School in 2010 and works as an associate at Arnold & Porter LLP, Washington, D.C.
Dr. Kalra has over 13 years of experience in international trade and finance. He works closely with several U.S. and international finance and securities organizations in their training and certification programs. He also assists individuals and organizations in developing their investment policies and implementing and monitoring their investment strategies. Dr. Kalra has presented and published several academic and professional papers.
Until February of 2009, Dr. Kalra was the sole-member/governor of Camelot Cleaners that operated four dry cleaning stores and plants in Fargo/Moorhead area. Camelot had annual revenue of about $1 million and had about 25 employees.
