Linking with URLS
Linking with URLS
If an article is available in full-text within one of our databases it is best to link to the article, rather than put the article on E-Reserve.
Linking to articles can be somewhat cumbersome, with some databases being harder to link to than others. Below is an example of how to link to an EBSCO database. Please contact a librarian if you need any assistance with this task.
To link to an article in an EBSCO database you should do the following-
1. Locate the journal article that you are interested in. This can be done by searching a database for a full-text article. Alternatively, if you know of a specific article that you would like to use, you can look up the journal's name in the Library's A to Z E-Journal Directory to locate the article.
2. Once you have located a journal article that you are interested click on the title
This is the link from above:
http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=aph&AN=35731628&site=ehost-live
To make this link accessible to off-campus students you should add the following prefix to the link:
http://trmproxy.mnpals.net/login?url=
creating the URL:
http://trmproxy.mnpals.net/login?url= http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=aph&AN=35731628&site=ehost-liveIMPORTANT: This new URL will prompt off-campus students to login to the University's proxy server, allowing them access to our paid resources. This new link should be tested prior to class. This testing should take place from an off-campus computer. If you have any problems with this process, please contact a librarian, and we will provide you with a proxied persistent link. .
