Circulation/Reserves Desk Area The Circulation Desk is the place to check out books, return books, and also to pick up items that you have requested via Interlibrary Loan. Other services available at the Circulation Desk are printing university photo identification cards and purchasing discounted photocopy cards. Reserves are materials such as books, articles, audio or video tapes, or computer disks which have been placed in a special collection. It is anticipated that there will be such a demand for an item in this collection that its use must be restricted to ensure that everyone needing the item will be able to obtain it in time to do the required work. Usually, instructors place items on reserve for use by a particular group of students. Items on reserve circulate for varying amounts of time, depending upon the Faculty member who placed the items on reserve and his/her preference. Most materials can be kept for two hours (with two renewals possible) while some can be checked out for a three-day period. Some materials can be checked out overnight but that must be done within the last hour before the library's closing. Overnight materials must be returned within one hour of the library's next opening. For more information, consult the Circulation/Reserves Information from the Library's web site.
