SP 361: Advanced Forensics
This course is designed for students who may consider forensics as
a career. It focuses beyond competitve performance techniques to
the "behind the scenes" look at competitive speech and debate. Students
can expect to participate in the process of hosting Speech and Debate Tournements.
This course runs the entire semester because of the numerous preparations
that go into the preparation of the Moorhead State University High School
Invitational Tournement.
In this Course students will Learn:

Tournement procedures

Tabbing formulas
-
Computer Paring and Tabbing

Scheduling
-
Tournement Delegation and Small Group work
Students in this course will prepare two 5-6 page paper/progress
reports to be handed in at mid-term and at the end of the semester in order
to reflect and analyze their role in hosting the Tournement. These
papers should include:

Analysis of the needs of the tournement director
-
Process/formulas for tournement construction
-
Familiarity with technology and the tournement
-
Suggestions for future improvement
By the end of the course the student will have the tools and the knowledge
of tournement hosting and facilitation.
