Area Presentation Assignment

The objective of this presentation is to convey a general knowledge about your selected area of experimental psychology by giving us some background information about the research area and by reviewing a current, empirical research article from that area. Your job is to give us a big picture view of that research area, while zooming in to summarize a relevant journal article. It is your job to connect your chosen article to the larger research area in a meaningful way. You are conveying your understanding to an audience of your peers. Remember that students in the audience have not spent as much time looking at the literature and the research area as you have, but they are upper-level psychology students. You must go beyond the introductory psychology level. Your job is to summarize, simplify, and show us about some conclusions you have drawn about the area. 

Your presentation should last about 15-20 minutes. You should spend roughly half of the time summarizing your article and the other half of the time connecting and commenting on the relevant larger research area. Remember to show us (demonstrate) whatever you can instead of just telling us about it. Can you get the audience to do something relevant? Try to get the audience active in demonstrating your phenomenon. End the presentation by engaging the audience in discussion.
