Ad2 Club
Ad2 Club is a student organization affiliated with the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Students majoring in the mass communications advertising and public relations sequences meet regularly with the Fargo-Moorhead Ad Club and travel to national AAF conventions. Club members compete as upper classmen in the AAF national collegiate competition. A national client provides the problem, e.g. marketing the Saturn automobile to people ages 18-35, and students spend a semester researching and a second semester in creative execution as preparation for a regional competition. The team has won and regularly placed high in a region which includes the University of Minnesota, St. Thomas, the University of Wisconsin, Marquette, and the University of South Dakota and South Dakota State University. Jody Mattern, an experienced advertising professional and now an MSUM professor, is the club advisor and instructor for the yearlong campaigns course.
