Gave a presentation on issues and problems facing Latino students in
Moorhead Public
Schools, including results of
surveys of students' perception and attitudes
Issues include low retention and graduation rates, high
placement in special education,
segregation, unequal funding,
lack of mentoring and tutoring, deficient physical
infrastructure
and equipment,lack of teacher
training, excessive use of force, lack of college prep courses
and information on ACT Tests, plus
other problems
