Fuego Tropical and Kyai Madu Murni
The MSUM World Percussion Ensemble

Directed by Dr. Kenyon Williams, Fuego Tropical was formed in August of 2003 with generous support from MnSCU CTL and the Bush Foundation.  Today, Fuego Tropical continues to bring its unique blend of Trinidadian steeldrums and Afro-Cuban salsa music to the Red River Valley Region!  In 2010, the ensemble added a central Javanese gamelan to the mix, allowing the ensemble to rotate emphasis each year between a variety of world cultures:  Cuba, Trinidad, Indonesia, West Africa, Middle Eastern, and Brazil!

Whether you're looking to provide a multicultural education-celebration of the music of the Caribbean, a unique cultural experience for your guests, or you're just looking for music that'll get your special event hopping, look no further! You've found it!
