Judy Dietzler earned her B.A. in Piano Performance from the University of West Florida in Pensacola and her Masters of Music in Piano Pedagogy and Performance at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. She has completed three years of coursework towards her Doctoral of Musical Arts at North Dakota State University. Her private piano teachers include Nancy Harris, Pierre Huybrechts, Itziar Elorza de Acosta, Phyllis Lehrer, Harold Zabrach, Dr. Paul Wirth, Dr. Robert Groves and Dr. Andrew Froelich.  Frances Clark, Louise Goss and Dr. Samual Holland were Judy's piano pedagogy teachers at Westminster Choir College.

Judy's teaching experience spans over 25 years as a class and private piano teacher in a college environment and in the private sector.  She taught at the New School for Music Study, which is now known as the Frances Clark Center in Kingston, New Jersey and at the Univesity of Minnesota, Morris campus and North Dakota State University in Fargo,  North Dakota before joining the staff at MSUM.  Judy regularly performs with vocalists and instrumentalists in the area as an accompanist and chamber musician and frequently adjudicates piano competitions, Guild Auditions and National Federation of Music Clubs festivals in the region.  Her private studio has produced pianists who pursue majors in piano performance, National winners in Guild Auditions, Honors Concert participants in MMTA competitions, and trophy winners in National Federation of Music Club Festivals.  She is currently an active member of the Sigma Alpha Iota Alumni chapter in Fargo, North Dakota, the National Federation of Music Clubs, the American College of Musicians and the Fargo/Moorhead Music Teachers Association.
