Julie Adams has a broad spectrum of teaching and directing experience. A native of Independence, Missouri, she received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baker University and her Master of Arts (Voice) degree from the Lamont School of Music, University of Denver where she was a graduate assistant in the opera program. Additional study in Orff-Schulwerk teaching strategies has been done at Mills College and the University of California, Los Angeles with additional operatic training at the Inspiration Point Fine Arts Academy.
As an educator, Ms. Adams has over 20 years experience at both the elementary and collegiate levels having simultaneously taught full-time for the Hemet (California) School District and for Mount San Jacinto College where she taught Voice Class, Children’s Music, Techniques of Musical Theater while also serving as musical director for the college’s musical theater productions. In addition, she maintained a private voice and piano studio. Julie's singing experience has included operatic roles as well as recital and sacred literature in a variety of settings.
As a director, Julie has been awarded four Inland Theater League (California) awards for Musical Direction and seven nominations. She has 25 years experience in directing church music ensembles and has throughout her career directed both vocal and Orff-based instrumental ensembles at the elementary level.
