Tri-County Hospital Foundation has a $1,000 annual scholarship available for advanced or graduate level nursing students.
Eligibility Criteria are the following:
- Has been accepted in an advanced or graduate level health care program with career goals in the health care field
- Currently is or has been a resident in the service area of Tri-County Hospital, Wadena, MN, or has an immediate family member who resides in the TCH service area.
- Potential to return to the service area and/or within the Tri-County Hospital system.
- Has demonstrated leadership ability, initiative, and active participation in work, volunteerism, and/or community activity.
- Has a G.P.A. of at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent, or meet the minimum G.P.A. requirements established for the college or university's academia if it is higher.
- Submits the required application materials on or before the deadline date of August 1.

Sue Fischer Scholarship
The Mercy & Unity Hospitals Foundation has established the Sue Fischer Scholarship for Nursing Excellence.Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for nursing students to pursue their academic studies, not to exclude approved internships or professional training.The fund is in memory of the late Sue Fischer in honor of her years of dedicated service to patients and the nursing profession.

Eligibility
1. Applicant must demonstrate some degree of financial need.
2. Applicant must be a full or part time student enrolled in a baccalaureate degree nursing program and have accumulated enough credits to be at least a junior level. The applicant may also be an associate degree student returning to school or transferring for a baccalaureate degree nursing program or graduate degree nursing program.
3. Applicant must be in good academic standing.
4. Applicant must have demonstrated a commitment of service to others through employment, volunteer service, community service, etc.
5. Applicant must be a resident of the state of Minnesota.
6. Applicant must be enrolled in a higher educational institution in Minnesota.

Here are details for the 2011 round of the BestNursingDegree.com Scholarship program (www.bestnursingdegree.com/scholarship/). We're accepting applications starting on March 1st, 2011.
In this application cycle, we’re giving away three scholarships of $2,500 each (in 2010, we awarded two). One will go to an ADN-prepared nurse who’s going back to school for an RN to BSN program. The second will go to a nurse who’s going back to school for a Masters in Nursing or Doctorate in Nursing program. The third will go to a non-nurse who’s going back to school to become a nurse (in an Accelerated Second Degree BSN or Direct Entry MSN program).
American Cancer Society Scholarships in Cancer Nursing

scientists, the American Cancer Society offers scholarships ranging from
$10,000 to $15,000 per year. Students pursuing a master’s degree in
cancer nursing or a doctorate of nursing practice (DNP) or a research
doctorate (PhD, DSN, etc.) are eligible to apply. *Applications must be

Yale School of Nursing
Pre and Postdoctoral Research Training Program in Self and Family Management. The purpose of this pre- and postdoctoral training program is to prepare nurse researchers to contribute to the science of self and family management chronic illness, especially cancer, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes or risk for the development of these conditions. Pre- and postdoctoral trainees will work with faculty from Yale School of Nursing and across Yale University who are making significant contributions to self and family management research. The program focuses on the development of knowledge and the understanding of self and family management, development of interventions, and the testing of these interventions.
