Grounds


Mission

MSUM Grounds is responsible for the overall maintenance of the MSUM main campus to provide an attractive, enjoyable, and safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and the general public.

Services

Landscape Maintenance
  • Maintenance of lawns and plants...including mowing, trimming, and weeding.
  • Replacing trees, shrubs, and flowers.
  • Landscaping and site amenities.
  • Fertilizing.
  • Exterior pest control.
  • Irrigation.
  • Arbotecting (Dutch Elm Prevention).

Landscape Construction
  • Planting, removing, and replacing trees, shrubs and flowers.
  • Sodding, seeding, and renovation of turf.

Grounds Maintenance
  • Litter and trash control
  • Cleaning and painting of parking lots and sidewalks
  • Paving and repair of sidewalks and parking lots
  • Maintenance of athletic fields

Weather Emergencies
  • Flooding: sandbagging, pump water, monitor water levels at retension pond
  • Snow/Ice: snow removal from all walks, parking lots, loading zones, fire lanes and other road ways

Other Services
  • Barricades and fencing where needed.
  • Special events held on campus (i.e. commencement, 4th of July Celebration).
