MSU NEUMAIER HALL IMPLOSION
WILL BE SHOWN LIVE ON INTERNET
Moorhead, MN….The implosion of Moorhead State University’s 15-story Neumaier Hall at 7 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 8 will be seen live on the Internet through the university’s home Web page.

Developed by MSU junior graphic communications major Ben Holsen, who manages computer sales at the campus Bookstore, the site is actually located on the Bookstore’s home page at http://bookstore.moorhead.msus.edu. But it is also linked with the university’s home page at www.moorhead.msus.edu, which has a special link to an implosion page which includes the history of Neumaier Hall along with news reports and facts, plus details on how to order a commemorative video of the implosion. The page with all the implosion links is located at www.moorhead.msus.edu/implosion.

The site now is taking digital video camera pictures every 30 seconds. The Webcam will go live with a streaming server at midnight the day of the explosion.

To view the Webcam video stream live, both Macintosh and PC users first have to download QuickTime 4.0. It’s available free at www.apple.com/quicktime/.

Holsen engineered the cameras and computer connections with the help of Bookstore sales associate Matt Bengtson, a computer science junior, and the Bookstore’s web page developer Joel Bjorge, a graphic communications senior.
