Bio
Ramesh Sharda is Director of the Institute for Research in Information Systems (IRIS) , ConocoPhillips Chair of Management of Technology, and a Regents Professor of Management Science and Information Systems in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. He received his B. Eng. degree from University of Udaipur, M.S. from The Ohio State University and an MBA and Ph. D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research has been published  in major journals in management science and information systems including Management Science, Information Systems Research, Decision Support Systems, Interfaces, INFORMS  Journal on Computing, Computers and Operations Research, and many others. He serves on the editorial boards of journals such as the INFORMS Journal on Computing, Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Frontiers, and OR/MS Today. His research interests are in decision support systems, especially neural network applications, and technologies for managing information overload. His team’s work on forecasting box office revenue of movies has received a lot of press. Defense Ammunitions Center, NSF, the US Department of Education, Marketing Science Institute, and other organizations have funded his research. Ramesh is also a cofounder of a company that produces virtual trade fairs, iTradeFair.com.

Ilze Zigurs

Bio

Ilze Zigurs is Professor and Department Chair of Information Systems and Quantitative Analysis in the College of Information Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She holds the Mutual of Omaha Distinguished Chair of Information Science and Technology, and also served as the founding Director of the doctoral program in Information Technology. In 2007, she was named a Fellow of the Association for Information Systems. Her Ph.D. is from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Zigurs’ research examines design, implementation, and use of collaboration technologies, particularly in virtual teams and projects. She currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Communications of the Association for Information Systems.

Vallabh Sambamurthy

Bio
Vallabh Sambamurthy (Ph.D., University of Minnesota, 1989) is the Eli Broad Professor of Information Technology at the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. He is the founder of the Center for Leadership of the Digital Enterprise (www.bus.msu.edu/clode), a research center at the Broad School that is dedicated to issues associated with the convergence between information technologies and business strategy, business processes, innovation, and governance. His current research includes the impacts of information technologies on strategic agility and the design of inter-organizational collaboration networks for product design and supply chain systems.  He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Information Systems Research, one of the top journals for research on information systems. Most of his research has been conducted in Fortune 500 firms and has been funded by the Financial Executives Research Foundation, the Advanced Practices Council (APC), and the National Science Foundation.  The Advanced Practices Council is a group of 25 CIOs of Fortune 500 firms who commission research on topics of relevance to their work. In addition to numerous academic publications, he has written executive-oriented articles in the CIO, Optimize, and CIO Insight magazines.  Recently, he co-authored a book on information technology management, titled, Winning the 3-Legged Race: When Business and Technology Run Together, Prentice Hall, 2006.

Joey F. George
Editor-in-Chief: CAIS (2006-2009), Senior Editor ISR


Bio
Joey F. George is a Professor of Information Systems and the Thomas L. Williams Jr. Eminent Scholar in Information Systems in the MIS Department in the College of Business at Florida State University (FSU).  He earned his bachelor's degree at Stanford University in 1979 and his Ph.D. in management at the University of California at Irvine in 1986.  He was selected as a Fellow of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) in 2008.  His research interests include the detection of deceptive computer-mediated communication, computer-based monitoring, and group support systems.  His research has been funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation and the U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Research. He is currently the President-Elect of the Association for Information Systems, and he will serve a President of AIS for one year, beginning on July 1, 2010. Dr. George has published 54 articles in such journals as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Communications of the ACM, Journal of MIS, Journal of AIS, and Communication Research.  He has also published 24 book chapters and 35 papers in refereed conference proceedings.  Professor George is currently a Senior Editor at Information Systems Research.  From January 2006 until March 1, 2009, he served as Editor-in-Chief of Communications of the Association for Information Systems.  He has served as both Senior Editor and Associate Editor for MIS Quarterly.
