
MWAIS 2010 Student Project Expo
The Midwest United States Association for Information Systems (MWAIS)
is organizing its Student Project Expo for its Annual Conference hosted by
Minnesota State University Moorhead, Minnesota, May 21-22.
Eligibility- Bachelors and Masters level students
currently enrolled in Information Systems and other related majors (such as
Decision Sciences, Operations Management) are eligible to participate.
Nomination and deadline-Individuals or teams
consisting of 2-3 people may be self nominated or be nominated by a faculty
member. Nominations may be submitted electronically via email to
mwais10@gmail.com. The deadline for
nomination is May 1st 2010. This should include a) Name of
student(s), b) School/College & University affiliation, c) Faculty Member
"Sponsor", d) Project Title, e) Brief description of project (100 words) f)
format of your presentation- poster or electronic (please note that you will
need to bring your own laptop, if you choose to present electronically).
Topics- The focus of this year’s competition will
be on topics related, but not limited to: Project Management, Human-Computer
Interaction, Business Process Management, Systems Analysis & Design, and
applications in service industry (such as Healthcare). Students may submit any
innovative project that addresses the real need and challenges of organizations
and/or related to the general theme of the MWAIS 2010 conference ‘Emerging
Technologies for Service Enterprises.’ For a complete list of topics, please see

Students are encouraged to apply their educational and professional
experiences to provide a solution for a business or organizational problem with
information systems or technologies. Individuals or teams will present their
project findings either in the format of a poster or demonstrate the project
using laptop.
Award- Three best student projects (poster or
laptop demo) will be selected by the MWAIS executive committee and MWAIS2010
conference and program co-chairs for recognition. First best student project
award is $300, second best award is $200, and
third best award is $100. These projects will be recognized at
the conference and the award money will be given at the end of the conference.
The awards are being sponsored by MWAIS.
