SPEECH LANGUAGE HEARING CLINIC

What We Do

The Minnesota State University Moorhead Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic offers a complete range of speech, language, and hearing services to people of all ages. Evaluations and screenings are conducted each week by appointment. Therapy is then tailored to individual needs.

Our Clinicians:

  • Help people with articulation (pronunciation) problems learn proper production of speech sounds
  • Teach people with voice disorders the skills needed for voice improvement
  • Evaluate hearing difficulties
  • Help people regain effective communication skills following stroke or head injury
  • Train children and adults in new ways of speaking to reduce stuttering
  • Promote age-appropriate language skills in children who lag behind their peers in language development
  • Augment communication with computerized (or other) devices that help people who cannot speak or write well on their own
  • Counsel people with speech, language, and hearing disorders and their families
  • Advance the communication skills of people speaking English as a second language
  • Evaluate and conduct research on all communication disorders related to speech, language or hearing

The Regional Assistive Technology Center (RATC)

provides augmentative and alternative communication systems to its clients.

The Central Auditory Processing Clinic (CAPC)

offers comprehensive assessment and therapy for individuals with central auditory processing disorders.

The MSU-Sertoma Auditory Disorders Clinic

provides a variety of audiological services to children and adults.

Who We Are

The Minnesota State University Moorhead Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic was established in 1961 and has provided a broad range of services for children and adults with communication difficulties since then. Today, professional staff as well as experienced faculty and graduate students provide these services in our friendly clinic. We offer state-of-the-art evaluation and therapy related to speech, language, and hearing disorders.  Our faculty are all certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Where We Are

Our communication clinics are located in Murray Hall on the Minnesota State University Moorhead Campus. There is a drop-off area at the clinic, with free long-term parking one-half block south of the clinic. Our building is accessible for individuals who use wheelchairs.
