Admissions
The School of Social Work accepts new admissions applications through the fifth week of each semester. While specific requirements are discussed at length in the Student Handbook, generally admission requirements are as follows:
Completed pre-social work courses (Soc 110, Soc 120, Psy 113, Psy 202, Bio 104);
Completed/currently enrolled in SW250 & SW330;
Cumulative MSUM GPA of 2.5 or better; and
Minimum of 30 hours of volunteer or paid work experience in a human service setting
(See Student Handbook for guidelines).
Social Work Scholarships
The School of Social Work is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2010 Internship Scholarships. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded, one for a Micro setting and one for a Macro setting. The deadline to apply is November 25, 2009.
Twelve $1900 Child Welfare stipends will be awarded during the fall and spring semesters. For more information, see the "Child Welfare" option on the main menu of the Social Work website.
More scholarships will be awarded in Fall 2010. See the "Scholarships" option on the tool bar for more detailed information.
