COMMUNITY SERVICE & VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Fargo-Moorhead Community offers a wide range of service projects covering many social issue areas such as homeless shelters, food pantries, nursing homes and assisted living centers, blood donations, building homes for Habitat for Humanity, tutoring children and assisting with English as a Second Language, fundraising for special causes, being a companion for Hospice, becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister, helping at-risk youth, and Special Olympics.

The list of agencies needing volunteers is long and the benefits are many, including increased self-esteem and confidence, a chance to experience the diversity of our community and a step in the road to a lifelong commitment to helping others.

Get Involved – You can make a difference. For more information, contact Volunteer Visions at volvisns@mnstate.edu. In addition, an agency list is available at the Academic Service Learning website at web.mnstate.edu/asl. Many of MSUM’s student organizations are active in community service and can be contacted at web.mnstate.edu/osa.
