This course will introduce students to
Macroeconomics. The class is divided into three sections. We will
start with measurement and the long-run trend. The second section will
develop a partial equilibrium by exploring the labor market, the goods market,
the asset market. Finally, we will combine the parts into a general
equilibrium model through IS-LM. The IS-LM will be examined two
different ways: the Classical view and the Keynesian view. This will
allow us to explore short-run issues
Macroeconomics, Able and Bernanke (and Croushore)
A copy of all additional readings will be available on my web page or on JStor.
The required work for this class consists of two midterm exams, a final exam, and several homework assignments.
