Notes:
Homework: Every homework problem will be worth 10 points. I will not drop any problems.
Exams: Each hour exam covers the material since the last exam. The exam scheduled during final exams week is merely the fifth exam. Since I am not giving a cumulative final, no exam will be dropped. However, due to the nature of this course, the bulk of the assessment is done in the homework assignments. For this reason, I will make the exams this semester consist of three types of problems: Definitions, Calculations (similar to homework problems on the same topics), and Proofs that are identical to ones from the homework.
Attendance: I do not take formal attendance, but it would be a poor idea to miss class unless you are ill. You will be responsible for getting notes from a classmate if you do miss class. If you miss an exam, I expect to be notified as soon as feasible about the reason for missing the exam. Homework is due on the due date, regardless of whether or not you made it to class that day. It is considered on time if I receive it before I start grading. I may start grading as early as 1:30 pm. I will check the tutor room for stragglers just before I start grading, so if you're pushing the clock, work in the tutor room.
