1) Select a high school math position from the Ed Post job listings and research what you can about questions you may have about this position, the students' math proformance in that district, the districts' math curriculum, & community support for the school.

2) Write a letter of application - This is to be turned via email or dropped off at Professor Harms' office at least 24 hrs before your scheduled interview. This is to include at least three paragraphs with a description of related work experience, professional involvement and leadership that makes you qualified for this position. Convince the employer that you have the personal qualities to be the best teacher for this position.

Proof read this carefully as a typo may cause your application to be tossed if there are errors. A resume is optional for the final. The letter is to be addressed to the principal or district contact person if listed. Look at Career Services "Writing Letters of Application…" found at the bottom of the link

3)Prepare a high school geometry lesson plan, your choice on the format of this lesson plan. This is also turned via email or dropped off at Professor Harms' office at least 24 hrs before your scheduled interview. You will be teaching 10-15 minutes of the lesson that you have written. This mini "see, show, do" lesson should be on Transformations that addresses High Math Standards/Benchmarks, at least 3 examples are to be worked out. The lesson will be done on a SmartBoard in MacLean 384.

4) You are to come prepared for 20 - 25 minutes of interview questioning. See "I Have an Interview, Now What?" Dress the part and have questions about the position you are applying for.
