Math 303

Math Education Research Report

Due Oct. 27th

 Go to the library and look at the journal Teaching Children Mathematics.  Chose an article that interests you that has been written in the last decade that addresses one of the following: problem solving, numeration, sets, whole number operations, or work in other bases.  Prepare a paper that includes the following:

• Summary of the key ideas in your own words (4 pts)
• The reason you chose the article and how you might use this in your own classroom (3 pts)
• At least a paragraph of your personal reaction- (4 pts)
• ideas that you thought were new and exciting,
• how this relates to Math 303
• how this relates to other education courses you have taken
• Identify questions you felt were left unanswered in this article (2 pts)
• Correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar -so proofread carefully (2 pts)

This paper must be typed and double-spaced.  I suggest that the length be about one full page, but it the quality not quantity that will be the important criteria. 

A photocopy of the article must accompany the paper.
