Course Description:

This course will focus on statistics, probability, and geometry.   You should strive to find many ways of solving these problems.  A good solution is one that can be followed by others and deals with the problem in a clever or concise way.

Unit 1 – Statistics and Probability (Chapters 10-11), Unit 2 – Geometry (Chapter 12 & 14)

Unit 3 – Measurement (Chapter 13)

Evaluation:

  1. Two unit tests covering: Probability and Statistics-100 pts, Geometry-100 pts
  2. Quizzes will occur about every other week.
  3. Assigned problems from the textbook, handouts, & Guide Notes- 5 to 10 pts each
  4. Math Station involving Statistics, Probability, Geometry or Measurement -15 pts
  5. Measurement project - 80 pts
  6. Comprehensive Final - 150 pts given May 7th at Noon for 12:30 class, and May 13th at

9 a.m. for the 11:00 class

-98 A+; 97-93 A; 92-90 A-

 89-88 B+; 87-83 B; 82-80 B-

79-78 C+; 77-73 C; 72-70 C-

69-68 D+; 67-63 D; 62-60 D-

59%- F
