Columbia Greene Community College – Business Management Email: michael.krajewski@mnstate.edu Born on Long Island NY, Michael began playing the guitar at age fourteen and by seventeen was performing professionally. Krajewski has held engagements in the North East, Atlanta, and the Twin Cities performing jazz, classical and popular styles. Michael holds degrees from Berklee College of Music, Georgia State University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Guitar Performance from the University of Minnesota. His dissertation topic explored the creation of an interactive iBook for developing a chord vocabulary for jazz guitar. Before joining the faculty at Minnesota State University Moorhead, Krajewski taught in the guitar and liberal arts department at McNally Smith College of Music. Michael’s research interests include curriculum development, music pedagogy, the integration of technology in the classroom and private studio, and assessment in music performance. His book “The complete beginning guitarist” is currently being reformatted for the iPad and will be released in late 2012. Michael plays Carvin and Kenny Hill guitars. Michael also performs on Ibanez and Godin guitars as needed.
