Revised Article Presentation

Article Presenters are expected to construct a 12-15 minute PowerPoint presentation and a script using the speaker notes section of Powerpoint. In speaker notes, you will type out what you would say if you were giving the presentation in person. When you save and email the presentation to me, be sure to save and send the entire presentation file ( .pptx ) NOT the slide show file. The presentation file will allow each person to view the slides and read through the speaker notes.
Begin with a summary of the article.
Use visuals (e.g., the data, supporting definitions) effectively.
Use outside resources (e.g., webpages that illustrate a point or example, another relevant research article, etc) to expand beyond the current article.
Prepare discussion questions for the on-line discussion board. Prepare three main questions. The best discussion questions do not necessarily have a right or wrong answer. Instead, it's important to support one's answer with evidence from the article or wider literature. Do not simply ask for responses from the assigned discussion questions. Instead use the assigned discussion questions as a springboard for deeper, focused questioning in a few areas of your choosing. Focus on stats and methods issues, interpreting the data, as well as content area that interests you. Reminder: This is a 400-level course; your material should reflect this. Do not simply provide basic definitions and quotes from texts. Go beyond the basics to apply the information or ask thought provoking questions that require an in-depth understanding of research methodology and statistics. Consider incorporating a related, more recent study. The questions may appear at any point in your presentation; type out each question fully. Dr. Malone will find your three questions and paste them into the discussion board.
Please email your slides to Professor Malone by 9 am the day of your scheduled presentation. When you save and email the presentation to me, be sure to save and send the entire presentation file ( .pptx ) NOT the slide show file. Speaker notes are not available in the slide show file.
Dr. Malone will upload each presentation to its own discussion forum in D2L.
Non presenters will then go to D2L to view the presentation and speaker notes (view, notes page). Then non presenters will respond to at least two of the three discussion questions for each article. For each response, please create your own topic. Non presenters are also encouraged to reply to other's comments. Please aim to complete the presentation viewings and discussion boards by 11:59 pm that day.
The presenter of the article must reply to at least four comments for each of their discussion questions.
