For the Psy 330 proposal:

You will not yet have data, but please include the following these two pieces of information:

• First Paragraph: Mention the design of your experiment again(e.g., single factor between-subjects design). Describe what will be done with the data to get it ready for the analyses (scoring, computing means, etc.).

• Second Paragraph: Describe how you will use descriptive statistics to summarize the data (e.g., will compute means and standard deviations for each treatment condition). Name the inferential statistical analyses you will conduct in order to address your hypothesis(es).

For the final paper in Psy 430 (after conducting the research):

Important information to include for each statistical analysis:

·        State the purpose of the analysis.

·        Identify and use descriptive statistics to summarize results.  Present this summary information in the text itself or in a table (or figure for this experiment).  If a table or figure is used, refer to the table/figure in text and tell the reader what to look for.

·        Explain the reasons for and the results of inferential statistical test.  Use figures to illustrate relationships.  Always mention tables or figures in the text and point out the major results on which the reader should focus.

·        State the conclusion drawn from each test. Discuss implications for the research hypothesis in the discussion section, not here.
