1. Draw truss full scale on grid paper. Pin the drawing
to 1" construction foam. |

2. Create "posts" by overlapping and gluing
together a number of toothpicks. |

3. Cover the draqwing with wax paper to prevent the glue from sticking to the drawing. Push toothpicks through the paper into the foam to lay out the posts on the truss
diagram. |

4. Several identical trusses can be built up on the
same plan, to ensure that all parts align. |
|
5. The bridge is completed by connecting similar trusses
with cross members. Note that the cross-members crisscross to provide
strength. |
