Time Sampling Measurement

Definition of Behavior:

In seat behavior defined as sitting on floor either on his buttocks or his legs (legs are touching the floor) in his designated space during circle time.

Positive Example:

Tom sitting in his space, on his buttocks with his legs crossed.
Tom sitting in his space on his legs folded over.
Tom sitting in his space on his knees.

Negative Example:

Tom moving any direction on his knees.

Tom kneeling with one knee and his other foot in a standing position.

 

Setting:

Behavior measurement occurred during circle time. Circle time occurs in the corner of the room. All students sit on the floor facing the teacher who is seated on a small chair in front of the group. All observations occurred during the first 15 minutes of circle time from 9:00 to 9:15. Thirty-second intervals were used to measure the behavior over the 15 minute period.
