Medicaid

­ MA is a jointly funded federal and state program which provides necessary medical services to low income families, children, pregnant women, persons over 65, and persons who have disabilities.
Those individuals with disabilities who will qualify for these students will have physical, health, or cognitive disabilities (MR).

­ Minnesota Children's Home Care Option (TEFRA) allows for medical assistance benefits to children with disabilities up to age 19 who live in their parental homes. Parental income is disregarded when establishing a child's eligibility for medical assistance

­ Minnesota Children with Special Health Needs (MCSHN) provides evaluation, treatment, and related services for children with special needs who meet the financial eligibility guidelines and
medical criteria. Services include:

Dental care

Laboratory tests and ex-rays

Hospitalization

Medical supplies

Medications

Physician and specialist visits

Specialty clinic visits

Hearing aids

Assistive Technology

MinnesotaCare

MinnesotaCare is a health care program subsidized by the state of Minnesota. MinnesotaCare was enacted by the 1992 Minnesota State Legislature in recognition of. the number of uninsured, low-income Minnesota residents. MinnesotaCare was established to provide healthcare coverage to low-income people who do not have access to health coverage.

GAMC

Minnesota's General Assistance Medical Care (GAMC) program pays for medical care for
some 27,000 low-income Minnesotans who don't qualify for Medicaid or other state or federal
health care programs — primarily low-income adults between the ages of 21 and 64, who
don’t have dependent children. GAMC is 100 percent state-funded. The Minnesota
Department of Human Services oversees the program, administered locally by counties. For

including: Earned-income disregard for people who are employed and disabled, intended to
increase the number of disabled individuals who are employed
