Graphing Permanent Product Data (practice data to be handed in for extra credit)

Sue is selling her house in Barnesville to move to Moorhead. The biggest headache for her in this transition is trying to keep her house clean so that realtors can show it to potential buyers. One of the problems is that the family dog, Lucky, likes to chew up paper. Everyday when she comes home from work she finds little pieces of chewed up paper in the family room and living room and sometimes finds the toilet paper dragged all the way into the living room. She decides to do permanent product recording by counting the pieces of paper she finds on the floor when she comes home. The data she collects over three days of is:

Sue decides to intervene by closing most of the room doors during the day, thinking this would give Lucky access to less paper. The data she collects after she begins to do this is:

Although this intervention is improving Lucky's behavior Sue realizes that a problem is that she is unable to close the office door because the cat dish is in this room. She decides to block Lucky's path to this room by putting a box by the door so that, even though the door is open, only the cats can fit through the opening. The data she collects during this phase is:

Although Sue has decreased Lucky's inappropriate behavior, she has not found the solution to eliminate the behavior. She believes the problem is that the minute she leaves the house, Lucky starts searching for paper and eventually finds some piece that she can enjoy during Sue's absence.
