Course Outline |
This course is intended to provide an overview of the theories and principles
from psychology related to education.
Specifically, the course addresses motivation, learning, development,
instruction, culture, and management. ED 294,
Educational Psychology, is designed to provide the social science foundation
for future teachers. It is designed to give you a
basic understanding of human nature as is applies to education and
should provide insights into further education courses in
content, methodology and practice.
Required texts:
Woolfolk, A. (2004) Educational Psychology, Eleventh Edition. Needham
Heights, MA: Allyn and Bacon.

A rating scale of the class participation grading is appended.3.An average of four (4) quizzes (25%)-
There will be four, 20-25 point quizzes given throughout the semester based on the course content.

4.Grand round write up of your student (25%)
There will be a five (5) page minimum paper applying the content of the course to a fictitious student of your own concoction. A full assignment sheet will be given later in the semester.5.Grand round presentation (25%)
Each of you will be presenting your profile of a student to the class, after which there will be a question and answer session. A full assignment sheet will be given later in the semester.
Grades will be computed by percentages alone.
