Lecture Information: The assignment for this lesson is a rather obvious one. You should discuss both styles of motivation for your student. If they have a preference of one over the other, that is well worth noting in this section. However, it is much more common for students to have all make and manner of motivations, so giving examples of both for your student is really more instructive. It is very pragmatic to note what are good reliable extrinsic motivators for your students, because you never know when you are going to need a good bribe. ;-) (just kidding...sort of...) Conversely, it is also very pragmatic to note the intrinsic motivators for you students as well. It can come in very handy when you need to reach them with a really lesson. It enables you to relate the content of the lesson with something that the student enjoys naturally, for example using hockey statistics to predict future performance using algebraic equations. Give examples of extrinsic motivators, intrinsic motivators and how a you might link a lesson to one of their intrinsic motivators. |
