Welcome to the LibProxy service for accessing the library's databases from off campus.

**Please note: When in the library, community patrons have access to subscription electronic databases. However, off-campus access to databases is limited to current Minnesota State University Moorhead students, faculty and staff. This restriction is imposed by the database vendors, and enforced as part of our compliance with licensing agreements.

Already setup? Use this list to select a database or follow the link below. Once you have accessed one of the databases from off campus, you may use other databases as well until your session times out or you close your browser.

Off Campus Database Access/Proxy Server Information

All of MSUM's databases are available for off campus use to students, faculty, and staff. The library has improved this service by eliminating the need to change browser settings each time you wish to access the subscription databases.

When you are off campus:

Select the database from the off campus drop down list.
A security alert box will appear; click "yes."
An "Authentication Login Form" will appear.
Fill in your MSUM library barcode and WebPALS password. (typically your last name)
Choose your session length.
Click on the "Log in" button.
A security alert screen will appear; click "yes."

If you are not able to access the databases:

Make sure you have removed old proxy server settings. (see instructions below)
Be sure that your computer is set to accept Cookies. In Internet Explorer click on 'Tools', 'Internet Options', then 'Privacy'. Settings should be at Medium or Low.
If your computer or off-campus site has a firewall, you will need to disable it or contact your service provider.
Make sure your MSUM library account is active. Only MSUM students, faculty, and staff with active library cards have access to our subscription database.

How to Remove Proxy Server Settings

Netscape

Open Netscape
Click on "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu
Open the "Advanced" menu
Click on Proxies
Select "Direct Connection to the Internet"
Click on "OK"
Restart your computer

Internet Explorer

Open Internet Explorer
Click on Internet Options from the Tools menu
Click on Connections
Click on the LAN settings button
Click "OK"; and "OK" again
Restart your computer
