February 16: Introductory lecture on the Civil Rights Movement. Read: The Struggle for Civil Rights booklet, chapters 1-5. Note: we will only be doing Module 1: Dorchester, 1963.
February 18: In-class discussion of Civil Rights Era. View portions of PBS series "Eyes on the Prize: Awakenings."
February 21: Handout parts for Dorchester Module and talk about the rules of the game.
February 23: Faction meetings. Gamemaster meets with the different groups to answer questions and be certain everyone knows their parts. Factions choose Highlander topics.
February 25: Highlander Folk School, Day 1.
February 28: Highlander Folk School, Day 2.
March 2: Highlander Folk School, Day 3, establish dress code.
March 4: No Class--meet as factions to plan for game day one on Monday, March 7th and consider the following question: "Should protests against segregation be conducted in Birmingham, and, if so, what kind of activities should protesters undertake, based on lessons learned over the last few years in Albany and elsewhere?"
March 7: Game Day 1-Begin presentations and debate on the Form of Protest. Vote on the Form of Protest, if time permits.
March 7: Highlander Paper Due by class period.
March 9: Game Day 2- Vote on the Form of Protest, begin presentations and debate for Next Protest Site (note-this will take several class periods and most likely not be resolved before Spring Break.)
March 11: Game Day 3- Vote on the Form of Protest, begin presentations and debate for Next Protest Site (note-this will take several class periods and most likely not be resolved before Spring Break.)

March 21: Game Day 4- Presentations and debate for Primary Form of Protest.
March 23: Game Day 5- Presentations and debate for Primary Form of Protest.
March 25: Game Day 6- Vote for Form of Protest. Debate and vote on Secondary Forms of Protest.
March 28: Game Day 7-Debate on protest Leadership
March 30: Game Day 8-Debate and Vote on Protest Leadership
