CJ/SOC 300 - Criminology

Course Description and Learning Objectives:

This course surveys the history of crime in society, including theories, research and commentaries on classical and contemporary perspectives of criminality.  Throughout this course, students will participate in discussions, debates, and a variety of other activities in the classroom.  The goals of this course are for students to gain knowledge of: (a) criminological and sociological theories, (b) measurements of crime, and (c) how race/ethnicity, gender and social class intersect with crime.
